Families with college-bound students benefit enormously
from the services of our College Counseling Center
and our local ACF college consultants.

 

  1. We start by giving every program member a College Guide with college process instructions and an activity calendar.
  2. We provide career search assistance to college-bound students with a nationally recognized, award-winning skills/interests assessment called, “Do What You Are” from Naviance, which lead to the selection of appropriate career path options.
  3. Then, required majors are identified which lead to career path choices. And finally, colleges that best serve those career-required majors are investigated.
  4. An ACT/SAT diagnostic exam and results are provide to all members. Online PSAT/SAT/ACT preparation services from program administrators are referred through our process, as well. (Better test results equal larger merit awards.)
  5. Assist with the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. (FAFSA)
  6. Confirm accuracy of the Student Aid Report. (SAR)
  7. Create Expected Family Contribution (EFC) reports using both the Federal and Institutional Methodology Formulae.
  8. Provide monthly College Roadmap newsletters.
  9. Assist with the completion of the Financial Aid Profile, as needed. (FAP)
  10. Assist with the completion of Institutional Forms, if required.
  11. Provide an interactive Student Positioning Session to help family/student select/confirm the best colleges for a career-appropriate pool of 6 to8 choices.
  12. Produce college financial assistance history; detailing their Cost of Attendance, average merit award, % of need met, and their Grant to Loan ratio.
  13. Recommend specific actions to maximize Financial Assistance Eligibility by reducing your EFC, when possible.
  14. Assist with negotiation of the college award offers, when appropriate.
  15. Assist in responding to any IRS verification requests.
  16. Develop a cost-effective funding plan to pay for your family’s college costs.
    1. Develop tax-efficient strategies to reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
    2. Develop customized plans utilizing current resources and cash flow to pay for college without diminishing or delaying retirement goals.
  17. Provide guidance with education loan applications, if necessary.
  18. Provide unlimited telephone and email support.
